Corn dogs

One of the funniest memories of Myrna is from the street festival we went to last Summer. We were wandering through the food truck lane and she spied a giant sign and asked 'what's a corn dog?' I explained what it was and she decided she wanted to try one. As we were finishing the last bites, she declared without a hint of irony but with great delight 'that was the best corn dog I ever had!!'

She was a wonderful friend who taught me how to navigate the people side of Timber Ridge and how to be 92 years old. I'd just as soon not need to use the latter lessons but maybe they work at 76, too.

I think her family has 30 days to clear out her apartment. That should be a shit show. She has it crammed to the max with all manner of little and big shit and most of it not even close to junk. And her 'family' is, of course, a non-functioning mess. Her apartment is just off the elbow where the puzzle is. I am looking forward to delivering lots of stink eye to thought thoughtless twats. (Myrna was very forgiving, too bad she didn't teach me that, too.)

And Gail (whose husband, Roger died a few weeks ago) will be moved soon, too. Her apartment is across the hall from Myrna's. Two available apartments on our little hallway of 10. Big changes.

Today is menu day. I still have a fair amount of menu money left over that must be spent before Tuesday. I need to do some planning.

Thank you for sharing your friendship with Myrna. You two were kindred spirits and partners in crime, and it was fun to be along for the ride. Great pic of her, too. Julio also knew she was a good human to be with. After that family debacle, I hoped you and she would reconnect. It didn't happen, but you have fun memories, and she missed you, just as you miss her now.

What a great picture of her, and what a gem to introduce you to the ways of Timber Ridge.
May she rest in piece.

If I'm lucky enough to live to 92, I hope I can eat my last corn dog with as much gusto as Myrna ate her first. Thanks for sharing that memory.
