Stuff with which I will not put
Feb. 14th, 2025 03:33 pmOne of the benefits of living here is seeing the stuff that can kill you and/or desegregate your quality of life to the point you hope it will kill you. Stuff you (or at least I) never considered. The beauty of this is that you get to figure out ahead of time, a lot of decisions that are best made prior.
John just popped in to bring me up to date with his adventures. He has a gizmo currently stuck up his nose that gets to live there until Wednesday when he goes to a specialist.
BUT, he's already been to the ER 3 times and each time he says the pain is horrible - worse than any he's ever experienced in his nearly 90 years. This is for a nose bleed. Well, actually to fix a nose bleed.
If this happens to me, I will be bleeding out, thank you. Going to the ER 3 times (as a patient) is 2, maybe 3 times more than I have tolerance for. And when the fix is horrible like John's ... I just can't see signing up for that.
On the bright side, my early morning foray to the CPA's office paid off. The woman doing my taxes already called me with questions - not too many but she read my notes and questions and acknowledged that she will be also calculating estimated taxes for next year once she gets this year's done. And it sounds like this year's will be done early next week. It will be nice to have that all squared away. Probably expensive but nice.
Last night I went down to the buffet to get dinner. They had meatloaf and chicken cordon blue and a lovely pasta salad. Plus potatoes. Way more than I could eat. I saved the meatloaf and made a sandwich for lunch which was DELICIOUS! And I have enough left over for another one tonight for dinner.
