Tall guy alert
Feb. 22nd, 2025 04:48 pmIf you take the bag part off a Dirt Devil Stick Vacuum, you have the exact size and shape of Joan. Her family, with the exception of her two great grandchildren who are under the age of 4 are all over 6 feet tall. It's hilarious. She looks like a third great grandchild in their company.
She's very good about sharing.
"Craig's (grandson) coming by this afternoon, have any tall tasks?"
And, actually, yep I did. Craig's really nice (and a Mariner fan). I put a tension rod up so I could curtain my door for afternoon sun. But I could not get it straight. And it's been driving me nuts. I tried to fix it a couple of times and only managed to knock it down. He, of course, had it straight in 2 secs. Thank you, Craig.
But the most impressive thing he did was clear out her tallest cupboards and she discovered an old sewing tin which she gave to me. What a treasure!!! It was full of buttons, crammed with buttons. About half were from her clothes and Joan knows quality clothes. She has really nice ones and her box was full of one and two spares taken from her clothes - beautiful. And tons of ones on old 10 cent cards and elastic and thread and mending yarn. It was a thrill go to through and I used two of the buttons on the doll I'm making now.
They had turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes and ham on the buffet line. I have enough for 3 dinners. Yum!
I got tired of junk TV today and decided to listen to some music. Really the only time I ever listen to music is when I swim laps and it's just the MP3's I own. Because I buy YouTube Premium, I get YouTube Music which I like - it 'gets' me. But my speaker is an Echo Studio which hates Google. The free-with-Prime-Amazon music sucks even with my lower than low standards. So I dug Google speaker out of my Tech I Might Want Again Some Day bin and set it up and I've been enjoying a lovely afternoon of junk music. I can just click on a 'radio' it tells me I'll like and I do!
So, it's been a lovely afternoon here at the cult.
