I went around to Barbara's and introduced myself and asked her to turn off the fucking light at night. She totally got it and said she was so glad I told her. She can't well - well enough to see my window from hers but, she has really decorated her living room beautifully. The guy who lived there before her had a very bare minimum of stuff. She's got it loaded but not crowded and even has a half dozen African violets going under grow lights.

She asked me if I was the doll making lady and I allowed as how I was. She had gotten some for her grands and great grands 'but, I always wanted one for me'. I told her new ones appear about 7:30-8 pm and she should come round and take whatever she wants. She also said she likes the monsters a lot.

I have not made many of those recently so I pulled out the monster yarn and declared today monster day. But, first, lunch.

I made the best omelette! I used to need a broiler to get both the top and bottom browned and crispy but I have now perfected the flip and fold. It looked so pretty and it tasted delicious.

CBS Sunday morning reminded me that it's the Three Mile Island anniversary. I have such vivid memories of that meltdown. I had spent a couple of years covering nuclear power plants when I worked at a newspaper in South Carolina located right next to one. So I totally understood that problem. But mainly I remember it because it happened on my 30th birthday. I had been married 4 months and knew I had made a huge mistake and felt like my life was in a nuclear meltdown... Three Mile Island... I could so relate. It's been a minute but the memory is solid.

I'm going to have to read about that accident. I've heard of it, but it happened a few years before I was born. Things that happened in the late 70s didn't quite make it to my history classes because they were still so recent to not be "history", but I also wasn't there to remember them happening.

You know you're in a bad situation when you can relate it to a nuclear meltdown :b

Where were you at? I actually live only about 20 minutes away from it - Microsoft is reopening it.

I remember three mile island---we Pennsy folks were quite scared. I remember it as a child though so there are gaps. I always confused the cooling towers at Limerick with three mile island.

And yay! for food pics
