I don't wanna but at least I got
Mar. 17th, 2025 12:58 pmSteveTheLawyer answered the second time I called. He said he was sick but had come in just to work on the trust (yeah right). I asked him when the next distribution would be (that's the one he promised to deliver last January). "I don't know yet, that's what I'm working on."
So I said thanks and hung up. Clearly, I'm not getting that money any time soon. Or the condo money. I'm going to have to rob Peter.
Once I know how much my income tax bill will be, I'll know pretty much what I need and can go to my investments and get it there. Not my first or third choice.
My spending moratorium will need to continue for a lot longer than I'd like. I probably should send a 'heads up' notice to Amazon. They will need to adjust their sales projections.
I did get the pantry all sorted and all the paper/plastic stuff rounded up. The good news is that I will not need to buy any for a very long time. If zip lock bags will save the world, count on me. I've got enough to save it for all of us.
Jim Across The Hall just told me that this morning, he was coming back from his walk when two house cleaners were guiding their carts down the hall and stopped at the basket on my shelf and adopted a doll and a monster. "They were really happy!" Very cool to hear.

Date: 2025-03-18 10:18 pm (UTC)So much uncertainty - it would be scary to make a big change right now - even if you don't work for a government agency (where you would REALLY have no idea if your job is secure) - if your company has any business with a government agency, things are all up in the air.
Our customers are sitting very still and reluctant to spend any money right now - their stock prices are in freefall - not because of anything they've done, but because Wall Street is panicking.
It's all terrible and I just really hope it gets really bad REALLY QUICKLY so that some magical line is crossed that will be "enough!" and we can stop the madness and start cleaning things up and putting the economy back together. The longer this drags out, the worse it will be for everyone!
