Going to the picture show

susandennisVolleyball struggles along. It was fun today even though there were really not enough people. Elbow Coffee will at least have good donuts today!
"I borrowed one of your robots for my Easter shelf." This was Steve, the volleyball guy and he was talking about one of the mini monsters which actually do look kind of robotty. He did this last October - borrowed a creature for his Halloween shelf and then brought it back when he was done. I love that he does all this holiday decoration and I love that he 'borrows' from my shelf to do it. I need to get up and take a picture of his Easter shelf.
He and his wife moved in here about 6 or 7 years ago they had a good couple of years and then she went from very active to dead of cancer in about 3 months. He grew up a non-native in Hawaii and worked at Sears on the catalog, I think. He's a very nice guy and the very definition of Teflon, nothing bothers him - it all rolls right off his back and he continues on his merry way.
I should dig out some Easter colors and make some Easter dolls and robot/monsters.
The baseball auditions continue. No winner yet. St. Louis is back in the running. It was the Mets with the idiot announcers. I was confused. Interesting because in a fairly recent reddit thread asking who's the best broadcast team, the Mets got tons of mentions for being great. They are sure not my taste.

Date: 2025-03-30 02:34 pm (UTC)We did an inside walk-around for the first time i a while yesterday, and lots of people have Easter themes on their shelves (bunnies galore). Plus a few who still are stuck on St. Patrick's Day.
