A tiny nibble
Apr. 26th, 2025 09:27 amYesterday I got a text from a condo neighbor, Paul. He's lived there for about 25 years. I remember when his wife got pregnant, I was sure they would move out but they never did. He tells me that baby is about to graduate from high school and will enter a 5 year program at Carnegie Mellon to become an architect.
Someone on my old Live Journal friends list (was it
kyrielle ?) once posted about finding this cool service that would take your photo and print it on a post card with your message and send it out. Postcardly. I mentioned it to my neighbor, Ann, and she told me it was Paul! This was 2012 Thank you, Dreamwidth, for such a lovely search engine.
Dreamwidth also found the entry where I had a mattress and bedding to give away and his baby was growing from crib to big bed and he was delighted to get the mattress. 2013.
ANYWAY. His text said that he and his sister were in the process of selling a condo (rental property) in Florida (used to be his dad's) and were looking to put the proceeds into a rental property closer to here and then remembered my unit was for sale. So he wanted to look. I connected him with Bret. Many many many ways this could not happen but fun to chat with him anyway. I think he should buy the cheap one and refurb it. But, maybe he has too much money and doing that would be too big a tax hit. Don't know. I'm sure Bret will fill me in.
Elbow Coffee this morning and then a lovely afternoon of baseball and knitting.
