So... 4:30, just before I went to set my OOF in Outlook, the computer click, bongs, snaps and I get the blue screen of hardware death. I have done such a good job of cleaning for my guests, I have no idea where the razor blades are to use for slitting my wrists.

I call Tycen who is my boss's technical guy. He has me check disk which takes for freakin ever (an hour and a half) and that doesn't fix it. Then we decide I'll bring it in tomorrow morning and he'll operate. Before he hung up he said, 'if you want, try seating and unseating your memory sticks and see if that does anything.'

Bad fucking 1GB memory chip. Seriously. I cannot believe it. I'll never get those three hours of my life back but it could have been so much worse. I had 1GB's in the machine. Now I have one. Boss will either order me another one tomorrow or tell me to go buy it on the street. I can't do any heavy lifting with 1GB but I can sure keep up, set my OOF, help out Tyler with a publishing problem he had and know that if I have to can get access to what I need.

Whew.

Great day to back off the blood pressure medicine.

Oh I called the doctor's office at 4:30 and asked to speak to the woman who said she would call or the doctor. Neither, of course, were in. I asked the woman who answered the phone if they ever had little office meetings and if so could she please mention how very frustrating it is to have them tell me they will call and NEVER ever do? She said they actually do have one of those meetings on Thursday and she would bring it up. She was really nice about it. I wonder if anyone will call tomorrow.

Kitchen floor is cleaned. Next the counter and then I may just put my feet up for a bit before the company gets here.

What's an "OOF"? It's some buzz-thing I've only ever heard from Microsofties.

Yeah -- I know -- but Out of Office is "OOO", not "OOF" -- I was wondering if MSFT employees go "Out of Fortress" or "Out of Football-field" or "Out of Fobbletybooble" instead of "Out of Office" like the rest of us.

I'm sure you already know, but I'm so far behind. Crocs has a bunch of new designs including some cute mary janes and some flats that I think I can wear to work.

A pain the ass, but at least it wasn't the hard-drive gone fubar on you!

Doctor's offices.... ugh! Ours had to fire their receptionist a while back because he was making appointments but forgetting to actually book them. Try billing a doctor for the half day's pay you just lost though......

Oh. No.
The BSOD.
I wept, gnashed my teeth and wailed, but to no avail.
I tried to dash myself against the cruel rocks below.
(I was chicken)
Then the computer guy sold me a new computer and Stan wept, gnashed his teeth and wailed.
I saved him from dashing himself on the cruel rocks below.
Stan hates spending money.
