susandennisOne red eye, one 2 hour layover and I am here - Charleston, SC where the temperature is a good 10 to 15 degrees colder than Seattle but it feels at least 10 to 15 degrees warmer.
The red eye - Seattle to Charlotte - was packed but not really a problem. They have added a new wing onto the Charlotte airport. I had to walk three counties over to get to my next plane.
When I lived in Charlotte, I worked on the bond issue that built that airport which I still think of as the new airport. This morning I passed a big banner announcing their 20th anniversary. Where does the time go??
My plane landed at 5:15 a.m. and the one to Charleston didn't leave until 8:30 so I had some time to make the hike and about in the middle of it was an oasis. Hot Krispy Kremes with coffee.
Mom was waiting for me when I got here and asked if I wanted to stop at Bojangles on the way home. Bojangles is a small chain of cajun (sp?) fried chicken places and they have the best biscuits in the world. We got country ham biscuits and coffee. Even more heavenly than the Krispy Kreme.
I do not like much about the South ... but I do love the food.
Mom is napping and I dug out my clothes - I had more here than I remembered. And everything I need.
All is good.
