So... I'd been back here about 30 mins when the GE repair man calls.  He's on his way.  I say OKDOKEY!  I told him that I had canceled but that it was a long story and he should come on.  He laughed and said he was as the 1st Ave bridge and would be here in a jif.

The 1st ave bridge is 5 mins from here by car and maybe 15 on foot.

An hour went by and I didn't hear a peep.

And then he shows up.  Turns out there wasn't a traffic light working between here and there and because of that, he could barely even get off the bridge, much less up 1st Ave.

What a day.  And... no... no word on what the cause was BUT the Seattle City Light website does say that most places have their electricity restored.

Anyway, the repair man was quite jolly and had my light fixed in a flash.  Said he'd order me up some spare bulbs for when my warranty ran out and he'd order me up a new glass tray (that sits in the turntable cause mine is dirty).  He had one of those Tough laptops that was all tricked out with very cool repairman/parts ordering software and a Verizon network card.  He placed the order for my parts from my kitchen counter in a heartbeat.  Oh and then, he hit a button on the screen and reached into his case to pull out something that looked like a mouse on steriods and it was whirrling... turns out it was a printer!  He printed me out a little receipt and another one for me to sign.  It was cool.

He had been at the game yesterday and at the Stones concert last month.  He was fascinated by my view. It was a good time and I have light in the nuker.
