• I went over to My Favorite Deli just now to grab lunch and I grabbed some sushi. I love the guy who runs it and the cooks who always great me with a big 'HI SUSAN!!' and I feel guilty if I don't get over there at least once a week but...  Hi sushi just can't hold a candle to the stuff at The Good Sushi Place.  Note to self.


• I decided this morning to hire someone to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen once every two weeks or once a week even.  Someone tacked up some business cards offering cleaning on the bulletin board in the garage and I went to get one and called her.   She normally does whole condo's not just kitchen and bathrooms but she said she'd think about it and come up with a price and call me back tomorrow. 


• I've been kind of keeping a list of heavy groceries. It hit critical mass this morning and I ordered from Safeway for delivery on Friday.  Kitty litter, presto logs, etc. 


• While it no longer matters as far as my view is concerned, there are still a few incredibly tenacious leaves on the Tree That I Hate.  They are ugly but you gotta love the effort. 


• Ordinarily I would be consumed this week with making ready to go to South Carolina for Thanksgiving. I miss Mom but lemme tell you... I do not miss the trip. Not one little bit.  It feels odd not to have to fuck with it but wonderfully odd.
  
• Work.  I have lots of work that really needs to be done so I'm better quit fartin' around and do it.

Oh dear... you must have missed the End of The Webcams entry. When I had to redo the computer, the webcams just didn't want to behave so I took them all down. They are old and can't be updated. When I get my new computer in January or February, I'll get new ones and set them up again. Stay tuned!

For something like the third time in my adult life, I am not travelling over the Thanksgiving weekend. I am very happy about thiu.

When I first got a cleaning lasy, I was thinking along the same lines, i want a kitchen and bathrooms that shimmer with cleanliness, but I hate hate hate the chore of scrubbing them myself...

Then it escalated... I realized I don't wash my bedsheets more often because putting the fitted sheets on (bed pushed into the corner) is such a nusiance. But with the cleaning lady, I get clean bedsheets and bathroom towels every week. And, Cat Hair! Until my carpets and woodfloors were cleaned every week (by the cleaning person) I didn't realize how much cat hair was accumulating all over my house. And then dusting all over, that is no fun...

I guess I am trying to suggest, don't underestimate how fabulous it is to have the whole condo glisten without lifting a finger. I am too lazy to keep everything so fabuolusly clea on my own, but I do so appreciate it when someone else puts my home into that state.

Oh I do understand. I had a cleaning person for about 6 years and it was heaven. But... I did not work at home so I was gone when the cleaning was done. And... my house was much more difficult to clean. When I redid it all, I streamlined and now things are much easier. I have a robot who vacumes and I only use a bottom sheet on the bed so every Wednesday, I change that sheet and my pillowcase and once a month or actually less often, I wash the duvet cover.

And I'm good about dusting and my desk is a mess anyway so we are left with the bathrooms and the kitchen.

My big show stopper is the being here. I'm not even sure I can stand to be here for the bathrooms and kitchen but we will see and probably you are right... once I get over that hurdle, the whole house is next!

Is it expensive to have groceries delivered? None of the stores here offer that, but I'm just curious. I just hate, hate, hate bringing the groceries in. Especially the giant sized kitty litter and 24 pack of bottled water. Whew!

Oh I hear you!

If you pick a 2 hour delivery window it is $10. If you pick a 4 hour delivery window, it is $8. They are always running a special that if you buy $150 worth, it is free.

It's pretty slick and we have two different chains that do it and neither allows tipping.

They bring in the stuff and put it right on my kitchen counter.
