I just looked up and discovered that it is 4:30!  I met my friend, Susan, for lunch next door (yuminacity) and then came home and sat down to polish off a couple of work bugs.  My favorite project manager, Jean, was working!  She never works on weekends.  So about the time I got one finished, I'd get another from her.

I've still got 5 in the queue for tomorrow.  Fine by me.  I suspect she is trying to get stuff done before the holiday.  Also fine by me.  She's turned into the best project manager ever.  So good, in fact, that I asked my boss if she could be put in charge of one of my other projects.  So now she's managing two of my big ones.

Her job is to get the assignment from the client, evaluate it, ask any questions, get any needed materials, find out the deadline, assess the likelihood of success, and then pass on the production bit to me.  Once I do my bit, she does the QA and sends it to the client.  She also does editing and proofing.

She keeps me honest and organized and buffered from idiots and stupid questions.  I work with a couple of other project managers.  One is good but too busy to be really good and the other is a disaster. They both enable me to appreciate Jean even more.  She's my gold standard for project management.

I have not run my Roomba on the front part of the house for a long time and I did today and it nearly choked on the load.  I cleaned him out and apologized and promised to let him out more often.

My Adventium microwave has a glass tray that sits on the turntable for microwaving and a metal one for baking.  Both are disgustingly filthy.  I'm pretty sure I can clean the metal one in the self cleaning oven or with oven cleaner.  But, the glass one was so bad that when the GE guy was here on Monday he said 'I'm sending you a new one of these.'  And he did!  It is beautifully clean and I plan to keep it that way but I thought I'd take as stab at cleaning the baked on dirt and grime off the old one.

My tried and true denture tablet soaking did not work.  This surprised me.  Those suckers will clean anything!  Now it's soaking in hot water and dishwasher detergent.  I'm not hopeful but it's not fatal.  I plan to put it in the closet and just use it if I break the clean one.

No, Betty, it is 4:45 not 5 and dinner is not served at 4:45.

And that is all I know for now.

Why is your Roomba a guy? You could've got a female Roomba, you know.

Silly cleaning tip from the web: put a glass of water in the microwave on high for a couple of minutes before cleaning. Supposedly the steam will loosen up the gunk and make it easy to clean. This is a tip I have yet to try myself!

Oh, yeah, we used to have that conversation a lot.

I already know denture tablets won't clean everything because I've tried it on my retainers, and it didn't even make a dent in the weird grime that builds up on those things. My dentist tells me that my best hope is to bring it in sometime for them to try to clean it.
