Thanksgiving
Nov. 28th, 2002 03:06 pmMom and I watched the Macy's Parade here which was fun. She reminded me of the 1st Macy's Parade I attended at age 8 months. We lived in Brooklyn. We moved to New Jersey shortly after that and then Iowa and then Missouri and then North Carolina. When I was in college, Mother and Daddy moved to Manhattan. I'd come home from college at Thanksgiving. Daddy and I were the only ones who cared about the Macy's parade and we would go. On the way home we'd compare the bloody mary's at selected bars. It was fun.
After the parade Mom and I went downtown to a very elegant restaurant for dinner. It was just wonderful. Mom got turkey and all the stuff she wanted and I got veal which is just about illegal in Seattle. It was heavenly.
Now she is napping and I'm futzing. Nice day. Home tomorrow. Yahoo!!!! I leave about mid-afternoon and get home about 11ish Seattle time.

Date: 2002-11-28 01:48 pm (UTC)We parade-watched, too, so we could compare how the bands looked after half the distance the kids will be doing New Years Day in the Pasadena parade.
Shouldn't be as cold, though.
I'm glad you gave a little rundown on your parade history. Just a couple days ago, I was wondering where all you have been. I could remember you've adopted Seattle after about 10 years, but didn't know from whence you came, so that saved me a search through your archives.
The sun is blinding in Vancouver as of this minute, but it was cold enough overnight that I left the turkey outside in a small ice chest instead of in the refrigerator.

Date: 2002-11-28 02:36 pm (UTC)After college I lived in Wheeling, WV, then Aiken, South Carolina, then Greenwood, South Carolina then Southern Pines, North Carolina and then Charlotte. Then Stamford, CT and Rochester, MN and San Jose, CA and then Seattle.
I loved roaming everywhere but when I got to Seattle, turns out, I had found home. Can't wait to get back there.
I've been thinking of doing a who's who and a where page to go with my LJ entries... I get lost sometimes with other folks and I'm sure I lose some myself. Thanks for reminding me.
