Mom has gone off to get her nails done. It's not an insignificant walk from the car to her apartment and we're going to lunch when she gets back. I told her 'if you want, take your new cellphone and call me when you get done and I'll meet you downstairs'. She's pretty much ignored the cellphone and admitted that she's afraid of it.
But, it won out over walking. She put it in her purse. Should be interesting to see if she can figure it out. I wrote up a cheat sheet of instructions which she also took with her. We'll see.
Don't tell Joy, but I checked my work email. And, since there were no nasty grams or big problems revealed, I'm glad I did. I'm taking Monday off, too so I'm sure by Tuesday there will be some problem or another but for now, things are okdokey.
My stuff is all packed away and put into the storage area for the next visit.
After the nails thing, we're going to McDonald's for lunch. She loves a Big Mac and fries. If she drives through to bring it home, it's cold before she gets home and she just doesn't ever go in. So today, we're going in.
Then we'll have about 2-3 hours before time to go to the airport. Can you tell I'm ready to go?

No snow... although there was frost on the car windows this morning. We never see frost in Seattle so that was kind of fun.
I'll be so glad to get home.
How have you survived the Thanksgiving holiday? Must be very boring to have to hear so much about a holiday that gives you no time off or any other benefits and is likely pretty meaningless to you.

Date: 2002-11-29 09:24 am (UTC)I actually sympathise with you as it seems to be that you have *high activity* from Hallowe'en right through to Christmas . We dont really celebrate Hallowe'en here ..more than we did when I was a child but still nowhere near your level ;) Then you have Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Must be difficult to sustain the level of enthusiasm?
At least here , Christmas tends to be an entirely seperate festival ...building from (in MY house) December the 15th or thereabouts and ending on January 6th....

Date: 2002-11-29 09:57 am (UTC)I hadn't thought of the Halloween to January 1 run... You are right, it is quite eventful. We do have that January 2 hard stop tho and we don't have Boxing Day which is so wrong, I think.
Interesting, eh?
