I have a lot of little chores to do - bill paying, web paging, paper organizing, software fixing kind of stuff. I am taking tomorrow off so there is no real stress to do it today but it looms.

This trip really reminds me of what an old lady set in my ways in a rut kind of person I've become. It kind of ticks me off but I don't really not like my life - I guess I just kind of wanted to turn into a more interesting person.

I think spending time with my Mom has kind of turned into 'if you have the bad luck to live as long as she has, that is what you will be - so there'. When I was going through files at Mom's I found obits that my Dad had written for himself and Mom. He lived a very prepared life.

This entry is pretty grammatically disgusting. Sorry. Breakfast time. Later.

Well I think you are interesting.

Funny, just this morning I caught an image of myself on my webcam and thought, "I am turning into my mother."

No question, you're interesting. To me, anyway. Perhaps because I recognize a lot of the agonizing, the evaluating, the comparing, that you do. We're both interesting. There is no way we were this interesting when we were younger.

Also, you aren't your mother...she made her choices, you make yours. Somehow I don't see you going the same way. But I do see why you've given so much thought to bowing out earlier.

Are you kidding?

Of course, the grass is always greener on the other side...but great Condo, living downtown, pretty cool job you can WALK to, pick up and leave for a week, Thanksgiving with no strings (being at a certain place, fixing a certain dish, playing up to relatives you would otherwise not deal with). Sounds fab to me. You get to read great books on a regular basis, have time for crafting, can watch whatever you want on tv, whenever you want without interruption. Your life sounds something I would pay big bucks for just for a vacation. Now don't you feel better?

If you want to borrow three kids (sometimes 4 counting hubby) in a busy, suburban lifestyle, let me know!

Yeah, I'm going to have to concur with the general thrust of this discussion. I think there are a lot of women in very different lives who would all love to live a life like yours. I am especially envious of anyone who has a great job and a life outside it. That's what I'm looking for now. :-)

Of course, the grass is always greener...
