The last 2 mins
Jan. 6th, 2007 08:38 pmMy father never played. My brother never played. I went to an all girls high school. In college I spent all the time I wasn't playing bridge for beer money, marching to end the war in Viet Nam. So I totally missed everything football. I don't really understand it and don't really care.
BUT, I love fireworks. And when the Seahawks win I can see fireworks from my living room. They are kind of lame but, heck, they are better than nothing and I get a charge out of them every time.
So, I try to tune into the last 5 minutes of the game so I'll know when to go stand by the window and get the best view. This year, the Seahawks have played a whole lotta football in the last 5 minutes of the games and tonight was no exception. They are going to be partying hearty in this 'hood for many hours to come yet tonight.
---------
My little eBay twerp continues to annoy. I got another note from him asking for the numbers on the back of the Treo. He says that he called Sprint with the number I gave him and they have no record of the serial number.
I took a picture of the number off the phone and sent it to him with a note saying that his implication was insulting. That I bought the phone in March from a Sprint Store and used it on their service until last week. And that if I did not receive payment from him by Wednesday, it would be sold to someone who would pay.
---------
Two new sit coms debuted last Wednesday on ABC. I finally have watched both of them. The one that the critics said was ok, I enjoyed thoroughly (The Knights of Prosperity). The one that the critics said was probably a keeper (In Case of Emergency) sucked eggs. I also watched the pilot of Dirt which everyone but
kjaz said was horrible and it was not horrible at all. I think it's going to be highly entertaining...

Date: 2007-01-07 06:50 am (UTC)There seems to be a retaliatory culture; a lot of sellers won't leave feedback until the buyer leaves feedback (for precisely this reason).

Date: 2007-01-07 08:04 am (UTC)I know I've seen some auctions where the seller explcitly states that those with very little or somewhat negative feedback should contact them before placing a bid or risk having the bid cancelled, but I'm not sure how you would do that.
Maybe you could look up how to cancel a bid and see if it's possible to do so without adversely affecting the auction?
BTW, thanks for the heads up about Dirt. I tivo'ed it on a lark the other night, but I hadn't gotten around to watching it (after hearing it was crap). After I read your comment I started watching it tonight and so far I'm enjoying it (but it's late so I'll finish it up tomorrow or Monday).

Date: 2007-01-07 04:31 pm (UTC)The utlimate irony -- although I'm glad it didn't turn out that way -- would have been for Seattle to be thrown for a loss on the first play of their last possession -- safety! 2 points! Dallas wins!
(In case you missed it, as it might have been before you started watching, the Seahawks started on their path to victory by way of a safety against Dallas, after Seattle had blown a first-and-goal scoring opportunity and turned the ball over on downs.)

Emergency really is a dog. Seriously, I'd rather have 30 mins of Yule Log.
