There are a squillion different places to set default fonts for email when you use Word as your email editor within Outlook.  Possibly more than a squillion.  It is doubtful anyone knows for sure how many.

BUT, I finally found the one I wanted...

  1. Open a new email (Word as the Editor)
  2. In the new mail message editor choose 'Tools | Options'
  3. On the 'General' tab, choose the 'Web Options' button
  4. Select the 'Fonts' Tab
  5. Choose your preferred font for Proportional Font.

New Times Roman have its annoying little serifs bite my ass.

Note to self:  When at Costco on Sunday see what they have in the way of attitudes.  Bulk purchase of some good ones is probably not a bad idea.
