So Mom sends a note that her computer is messed up. I PCAnywhere'd over there and discovered that while she had a solid internet connection and Comcast email was not down, her Outlook Express was having a bad day. I finally rebooted her and all was fixed.

My nephew (25 years old) was there last night on his way from his Mom's in Boston to his Dad's (my brother) in Florida. Mom's thank you note after my fix said:

'Matt turned oft the computer last night and he didn't do it the right way. That's probably what caused the problem. Don't they teach kids proper computer use these days?'

Sounds like he needs a computer lesson from Grandma!

At the local college I went to here nearly every time I turned on a computer in the lab it had to go thru scandisk because some jerk just used the power button to turn it off. I use a Mac and I know the proper way to shut down a PC. What they did know how to do were IM things, downloading mp3 and porn. Amazing the number of computers that were out of service each day because of those clowns.
