High price of drugs
Jan. 13th, 2007 05:25 pmBetween the 3 pills I take for high blood pressure and the 1 for high cholesterol, my medication expense is not horrendous - a year's worth is about $800 a year using the online pharmacy that my insurance company provides. But, we're changing insurance companies and policies and insurance types.
The old plan had $150 deductible for drugs and I think a 30% copay. The new plan has no deductible and a zero copay for generics and 20% for brand name. So, the new plan is going to save me a bit o' cash. But the new plan does not kick in until February and probably we won't have insurance cards until mid February.
I have enough of all my pills except one. I have several options and I have been trying to figure out what is the easiest best thing to do. This morning I finally got it together to check and see how much that one actually costs. My out of pocket cash contribution for 90 days worth of this one particular drug? $2.89. No kidding. Seriously. I ordered 90 days worth.
Sometimes I can make a festuche out of the dumbest things.
We're about done with snow I think. The parking lot is white but just barely. It was so nice to watch today - so calming.
I have lots of good Tivo yet to catch up with. The second episode of Knights of Prosperity did not disappoint. That show is a keeper. One thing that does strike me is that it has a theme song. You never hear that any more. Two and a Half men has a half or fourth of a theme song but the Knights has a whole verse... It ain't Giligan's Island but it's cute and fun to hear. I like TV theme songs and miss 'em.
I have a potato baking for dinner - I have sauteed mushrooms and grated cheese and sour cream and butter. Should be good.
