Lonely Town
Jan. 14th, 2007 12:51 pmMy trip to Costco was wild. There was not a soul on the road. There were still some icy patches which kind of surprised me but with no one on the road, I could go as slowly as I wanted to. At Costco, the parking lot was nearly empty. The first person I saw was a customer on his way in wearing what looked like an expensive Seahawks jacket. Why wasn't he somewhere watching the game?
Anyway, I got my goods plus some stuff I didn't need and then went on to our little bitty Sears store here. I am having a fight with my clock radio and am ready to pitch the damn thing. I need the smallest footprint possible which is hard to determine accurately online. So I perused the selection at Sears not bothered one bit by all the sales clerks cause they were watching the game. I jotted down the details on the two I liked and came on home.
It turns out my brother is a Saints fan. I have no clue why and didn't even know he knew how to spell football. He explains in a note this morning that he and all his Saint fan buddies are serious Seattle fans today because if Seattle wins then there will be a game in New Orleans. That's nice, I tell him. And then I think... If Seattle wins here, that gives them the opportunity to beat the poor Katrina devastated sympathetic Saints - that's sure a no win deal.
I'm ready for baseball season.
