I think I've finally fixed the LJ speed problem. I tweaked some connection things but mainly, I think, it was the style I was using. One of my friends posted some wide (and really lucious) photos that fanned the text out way horizontally. I had to scroll side to side to even see the entries.

So I decided to give one of my other styles a go and it not only fixed the scrolling problem but the LJ pages now pop right up instead of my having to wait. Interesting. Glad I nailed that problem. For you cable vs. DSL people out there, yes, they did seem to be a lot faster at Mom's with her cable connection than here with my DSL. Not scientific, just an observation. I'm not converting but it's an interesting thing to know anyway.

I am taking today off from work but it is still a work day. I have to wrap the Christmas present for my New Zealand friend and get that ready to take to the post office tomorrow. I have to clean up this stack of papers next to the computer - go through it all and deal with each piece. Put everything away that is not put away. Get organized. Once I do all of that, I can just fuck off for the rest of the day.

I always wondered where you worked. Somehow missed the USPS info. Cool. I usually try to avoid Monday's anyway but had not thought about today being a bad one. Makes total sense. I have the most wonderful post office and mail carrier. I don't mind waiting in line so much but the clerk and I always like to chat and I feel guilty doing it when there are people behind me waiting.

Package is all ready and tomorrow it shall go. Thanks for the info!

How long will it take your package to reach NZ? I have one to send to the Netherlands but I won't have it ready until Friday.

At this point my only option is airmail. To send anything to NZ via cheap route, I have to have it going by Halloween to get it there by Christmas. But airmail, I think, is a couple of weeks. Just very expensive.

Have also had problems with picts causing the pages to expand so am trying a new style...Notepad...much to lazy to make my own. One interesting thing is I can now read the entries when using my old version of Netscape...before the letters were really really tiny.5
