Going Back in Time

I decided that I don't use my IPAQ enough to justify the purse real estate. If I were away from a desktop computer for any length of time, I might feel differently but I'm not. I can play games while standing in line on my cellphone. The only thing I really need to have with me is addresses and phone numbers.

Eventually, I'll be able to batch those into the cellphone, too. But, right now, there is now way to do it except manually. So I decided to revert back about half a decade. There's a little piece of shareware I have used on and off over the years that gathers all your contact information (like every other PIM in the world) but this one has one cool little trick. You can print out all the information in a nifty little tiny booklet. Just like the little address books of old.

So I gathered all of the information I have scattered around the computer, the IPAQ, some notes, some business cards and I'm putting it all into this little program. I was able to batch a bunch of it in via an import facility but I decided that I had the time and I wanted to get it right so I'm going through each entry by hand and fixing and cleaning.

It's kind of a silly thing to kill a day on but hey, it's my day and I can kill it any way I want.
