So the giant check shows up in my Money Market account today - deposited yesterday - 2 days after the one it arrived with.  Hmmm  wonder what happens now that there's a stop payment on it?  Crap.

I got up at 6 this morning and spent until 1:30 heads down on work work.  I am all caught up and possibly including tomorrow!  Nice.

My coffee pot is having problems again.  I think I'm going to get into the car and go coffee pot shopping.  There's a BB&B in the same shopping center as a Target and they aren't too far from here.  I think I'll make a trip.

And I think I'll do it now.

AAhhh, two of my favorite (dangerous) stores!! In our neck of the woods, the BB&B is next to Best Buys, which is next to Barnes & Noble. Within too easy reach is the Target, Michaels, Office Max, Michaels, Pier One, and a 12 screen movie house. I could live there, just cruising around from one parking space to another, with refueling stops at Bonefish Grill (drool) and Chucky Cheese.

Just don't use the money in the account. Your new bank doesn't know that there is a stop payment until it is sent thru the Fed, and if they are in different Fed regions that may take a couple-seven days. Also, be prepared for a chargeback fee or something of the sort. Because of the stop pay the new bank will have to charge back the money from your account. And there will most likely be a fee.

Ours is $4.50 so I would guess on the low side. I tend to refund that one the first time because noone ever expects a check to be bad or stopped.

So look for a chargeback or stopped check fee or some completely useless word fee that the bank makes up.

Yeah, I'm sorry! I mean the bank that lost it. The one you deposited into.

If the bank that lost the check charges you a fee, get after them and make them take it off. It was their delay that caused this mess. I am betting they will charge you.
