Work work work

susandennisI was beginning to see the end of this current batch of projects. I was not worried but was wondering if I was going to be thumb twiddling 24/7 for a while here. But, then my boss called to ask if I was interested in taking on more projects. I told him 'always!!'. And he described the things that are waiting in the wings. Between now and June 30, I think I'm going to be very busy. July will likely be as busy with cleanup of leftovers and then August might be a bit of a dead time. We'll see.
For now, I'm in excellent shape. Since I only get paid for the hours I actually work, and.. I don't have much control over how much or when that work comes in, it's kind of like living on a teeter totter sometimes. But, the benefits are way too good and too many to even even think that living like that is not worth it.
I'm aiming now to have a year's worth of living expenses stashed in that money market account where I can get my hands on it quickly and easily if I want to. Once I have that little stockpile, I'll be sittin' pretty. Since I only have me to rely on, I feel an extra incentive to make sure that me is ready when she's called on!
