One hell of a telegram

So a really snotty woman just called from a number not recognized by caller ID.  She said she was from some fraud outfit checking on my Visa card.  Discover has done this a lot.  In fact, frequently when I go on a spending bender, they will call.  But, I rarely use my Visa card and had never heard from these folks before and I did not like her tone.

And I had just looked at my account not an hour ago and it was fine. 

I refused to give her any information.  She did not give me any reason to believe she was who she said she was.  So I hung up.  Then I called the credit union and they patched me through to fraud peops.  Probably the same outfit with the snotty woman. 

And.. turns out... there was a charge for $1,035 to Western Union.  Guess when they gave up telegrams they did not give up wiring money.  Well, they ain't going to wire mine.  Account blocked, new card issued.  This is really getting to be annoying.  At least I don't use/need this Visa much.  I have American Express and Discover.  I really don't want more than one Visa/Master Card.

I swapped some notes with my CPA.  He's finished my return but wants to see the goods from Ameriprise anyway so I'll take 'em by Monday morning. 

Work is still jammed up.  I have the terrace doors open and I can hear the New Years fire crackers.

Hmm, I've had an attempt on one of my cards in the last year and my mother has had her bank account raided by some idiot setting up on-line gambling accounts. She'll get the money back.

I'd like to get hold of these people and break their knees with a baseball bat.

(Why am I typing instead of driving? Priorities :D)
