Using up all my good karma...
Feb. 23rd, 2007 03:49 pmSo, it's not enough that my new computer starts it's journey home, but then, today, the mailman brings my tax returns from the CPA. It cost him $5 to mail. I live 1 and 1/2 blocks - he could have called. I would have picked it up but... no matter... I rip that sucker open to see how much I will have to pay.
Based on the past three years, I had put aside what I had hoped was enough to pay the taxes and the CPA.
But, lo and fucking behold, I get a refund!! Seriously... And the refund is exactly $4 shy of the total of my brother's invoice for the new computer. It's almost creepy. But, soooooo nice.
I called the CPA to see if I could file electronically and he gave me a bunch of whoha about why it's not a good idea this year (mainly, I think they didn't use the 'file electronically' software and they would have re-enter a bunch of stuff. I could have pressed him and he would have caved. But, I didn't. We can do it next year.
The next thing I did was run that puppy over to the P.O. and get it on its way!
Now I can use the Where's My Refund thing on the IRS website. The last time I got a refund, they didn't have that yet.
