If you tell it you want it to, TiVo will record stuff it thinks you might like based on the other stuff you have recorded.  In my 'you might like this' bucket today I found Suzanne Westenhoefer: Live From the Village.  It's from a couple of years ago and it was a delightful rainy afternoon surprise find.  Towards then end there were parts that were pee-in-your-pants funny.  Thank you, TiVo.

she is funny. i saw her (and Kate Clinton) about 10 years ago in a theater that had the worst accustics on the planet. what little i could hear was hilarious. today's find was just a treat.

I watch mainly educational, science, home repair, science fiction, and stuff like that. My TiVo is so good at figuring out what I like that its rare any more that, with the exception of a few "season pass" setups just to make certain, I even have to even bother to manually schedule recordings.
