The time to be
Feb. 26th, 2007 10:14 amMy Mom was always kind of amazed after her children left home and her husband died and she could no longer pay tennis every day, how much of her day was still booked solid.
She would say all the time - 'it takes a lot of time and energy to just be'.
That's kind of what my days are like these days. I think it's a wonderful luxury to have the time to be. And I am grateful for it nearly every single day.
Today is fairly free so far. I had a little mini website launch at 6 a.m. (thank you, east coast... would it kill you to schedule announcements at lunchtime???) And then there was clean up after that and a few other little things but basically I was all caught up by 8.
So I dropped off the teddy bear load and took a load of garbage and a load of recycling down to the dumpsters.
Now I think I'm going to do some budget work. I am still working on my goal of accumulating enough petty cash to live on for a year without having to dip into my other investments. I'm making excellent progress but with a highly variable income, I want to get a more solid handle on what it will take and how I'm doing.
So that's today's side project until more work work pops in.
Plus my little list:
- hardware store for power strips
- send in pharmacy claim to new insurance
- put away laundry from yesterday
