Finally, it came back - 2 hours and 25 minutes after I hit 'restore'.   I'm wondering if it took that long because I did it from Safe Mode.  Once I get it all set up and operating the way I want for a few weeks, I'm going to try the restore again and see if it always takes that long.

I know the times I've used system restore in XP have been real nail biters.  If I had had to go 2 hours and 25 minutes before I knew whether or not my ass was saved, I would have time to slit my wrists, change my mind, go to the ER, get stitched up, see a shrink and be back home before it was restored!  that's way not good but better to know now.

Bed time for this Bonzo.

At least I got to send my bro a FIXED!!! email for him to wake up to tomorrow.  I know he feels terrible about this.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Vista. And happy March Fools Day. And wasn't it also a full moon?

My Vista at work decided all of a sudden that I did not have a CD/DVD drive and even system restore didn't fix that. And it would not let me restore from DVD because it knew I didn't have one. :-(

I did a network re-image to XP from a Corpnet machine. I'm in a group which supports our QA department, they re-image machines so often that we have a simple routine to do that.
