Grocery Store.
Library.

After about 40 years of reading at least one hour every day - usually some trashy novel or mystery - I discovered several months ago that I no longer enjoyed it and gave it up.  But, I kept my hand in.  I kept my 'hold' list up at the library and added stuff that I would have found interesting in the old days.  And picked up a likely candidate here and there to try - but tossed them when they didn't hold my interest.

Then, in a stack of library offerings that came up a few weeks ago, I found The Jury Master by Robert Dugoni.  I have no idea how I got it on the list.  Could have been the local paper, People magazine or one of the folks who routinely check my book recommendations and send ideas of their own.  BUT, I gave it a go and finished it to the end and enjoyed the heck out of it!  He has another book out - newer.  I'm 67 on the list.

Today waiting for me is one that [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu turned me on to.

I do not understand Vista's search.  I read about how great it is but I cannot make it work correctly.  Right now, I have in my preview pain on Outlook a note containing the world general.  It is a month old note (so should have had plenty of time to be indexed).  Yet, when I plug the word general into the Vista search box, and select email, it turns up squat.  Nothing.  Nada.  Clearly it's  operator error but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to do it correctly.  I'm just too used to Google desktop I guess.  Once it indexes, I could put in general and quickly get this note and probably a bunch of other stuff, too.  I really would rather not have Google desktop on this machine but if I can't figure this out, I will.  I got a bascillion years of email and a good search engine is critical.

I was going to do some work work today but I just remembered there is a baseball game on TV tomorrow afternoon.  Perfect for working!

Now I think we're talking some brunch before I go to the grocery store and buy a bunch of crap I'm only getting because I'm hungry.
