So, [livejournal.com profile] vixter leaves a comment in this morning's entry that I should take a day off.  I did not have time to reply 'poo on that' before I went to meet with Jerome.

Jerome gives me a complete program - good stretches.  good exercises.  and 5 machines!!  With goals for each.

And then tells me... 'now, don't do these every day - you need to rest in between.'  ????  How did [livejournal.com profile] vixter even know how to get to Jerome and so fast??!!!

ha!  But, he did say I could do half on one day and the other half the next day and just rotate.  I wrote notes on all of them so tonight I'll plan out my A days and my B days.  This will work fine.  He's such a good listener.  He's still repeating back to me today stuff I told him on the first day.  I wanted stamina and he's giving me stuff for stamina.

This is so good.  Heck, it was so good that I gave myself another star!

and I love rest days.

I probabably shouldn't be taking so many rest days in a row.

But I have been burned by not taking them.

I used to rarely take rest days either, but now my programs are just so heavy I had to cut back to only 4 days a week (I'd still rather do 6-7). But if you don't feel you need it and your body feels good, then do what makes you happy. If you have an off day later on, try the rest day and see how you feel after it - you might have even more energy and stamina. Jerome sounds awesome and I'm glad you'll get to play with the machines! I think the extra star is deserved!

My understanding is that when you strain muscles as you do with weights that it helps the building of them for them to rest a day before working them again as well as helping to prevent injuries.
