Lunch Break!
Apr. 3rd, 2007 02:16 pmI'm having one of those days that if I weren't me, I'd really wish I was. Nothing spectacular, just a I Have A Great Life Day.
I cracked the MP3 player case. I need bookmarking. Not just 'don't forget where I was' but real bookmarking. Not too many players have it. A lot of Creative's do. Most allow up to 9 or 10 bookmarks. Good to know.
Mr. Bulbman has shut his doors!!! I remember once years ago, Mom had a lamp that Daddy bought before he died. The bulb went out and I went all over Charleston, SC looking for a replacement. No luck. Finally, I went back to Mom's. She fired up the cocktails. I called Mr. Bulbman in Seattle and he said he's send Mom out a supply pronto. He did. There was joy in the land.
So now I'll just have to maneuver my way around Mr. Bulbman Online. It was a little easier to take my dead bulb in and say... whatcha got? But at least he's not closed up the biz!
I have to shoo Betty off the chaise and get back to work but first, the strangest thing made me so happy today...
I stopped at the little market by the library. This market is not a supermarket and not a New York City like bodega but something in the middle. It small and nice and smack in the middle of a towards the low end neighborhood where lots of people walk to the store,
Their grocery carts were the same kind you find everywhere. Big and old and really falling apart. They were too big for the store aisles.
Today I discovered the old ones have all been replaced. The new ones are a pretty dark green with oh so smooth and quiet wheels. And they have two sizes!! One is a little smaller than the big ones were and one is half that size. The half size one is so cute and so perfect for me and so much fun to push around. I spent way more than I intended because I couldn't stand to leave the cart. One of the cashier's was heading out as I was leaving and we both admired the little thing. I told her it was just silly how happy that little thing made me. And it was.
Ok that bug alert sound has now gone off 4 times since I started this entry. That means 4 new bugs and there were 5 when I sat down. I need to get to work!
