Nice, Nice and Nice
Jun. 1st, 2007 08:24 pmLee came and rescued me from the Friday evening frenzie of frantic emails and off we went. Her boss told her an old favorite Filipino place was open again (it closed to move) just around the corner from the Hawaiian place so we headed out to decide when we got there.
We opted for the Filipino place. I'm not sure I ever had Filipino food before. (Lee's mom is from the Philippines originally.) We had beef inihaw and chicken adabo. They were both tasty but the inihaw was better. Lee said that her Mother would say that hers was way better. But it was great fun anyway. An interesting place - mainly take out but a few tables so lots of traffic in and out.
It is down in a neighborhood called Georgetown. Georgetown was once the center of Boeing. The original Boeing plant is there but most of Boeing works elsewhere now and Georgetown fell on hard times. They are coming back slowly but surely. Friday night was a great time to drive around and see stuff which we did and then wandered back home via Airport Way which is an industrial thoroughfare that was fun to see without having to fight the trucks that usually 'own' it.
I got home and turned on the game to see that the score was Texas 4 and Seattle 1. Seattle had the bases loaded and 2 outs and before I could fill my glass with Diet Dr. Pepper, the right fielder placed a nice hit into left field and before the inning was out, Seattle had tied the game. Of course now Texas has taken the lead back because our highest paid player who, it turns out, can't pitch for shit but who, it turns out, they can't seem to dump, is hogging the mound. Why or why don't they just give up and get rid of this boat anchor??!!
Anyway, lovely evening and I am stuffed. Nice.
