30 minutes at 2.9!  And, no problemo!  My neighbor, Ann, dropped by here yesterday and we were discussing the new gym and both agreed that the coziness and the layout is great.  You can see nearly everyone and there is much to watch.

Today I watched a guy install the holder for another big flat screen TV.  And watched Tjia try not to scream at some other workers who were apparently doing something wrong for the elevendith time.  And I turned off my book long enough to eavesdrop on a conversation that she had with one of the other members about the mens locker room.  Apparently those with penises are not big on towel picking up.  She said that Jerome had a fit last night when, for the second time that day, he had to go in and pick up more than 20 towels off he locker room floor.

Much action.  Very exciting.  I also watched a guy on machine that looks very interesting.  You sit on a seat with your feet on pedals in front of you (ass and heels on the same level) with a bar and then you scootch back and forth.  He set the timer at 30 minutes and set some other stuff I was too far away to see and then just scootched back and forth and back and forth.  I think I could do that.

The new gym is definitely very excellent.  And I am definitely very smelly.  Off to the shower.

We have towel service at my gym (awesome) and I can't imagine how it can be so hard to chuck the towels in the towel bins when you're done. Occasionally someone gets distracted and will leave a towel on a bench, but 9 times out of 10, someone else just grabs it and puts it in the bin.

Are we talking about a rowing machine? You can do anything from a gentle wander along the river to a killer cardio workout on those. We used to use them or the bike to warm up before the weights. Rowing is very good exercise.

Did it look something like these?

I have one of these and they're awesome. The nicest thing being that you can get anywhere from a relaxed laid back workout all the way up to what they call a "marathon" and while you definitely feel it effort-wise, it's zero impact so you're not banging up joints etc...

If nothing else, it could be a nice change of pace once in a while.

Yup, a rowing machine.

My gym has never seemed to have a problem with towels all over the floor, but then again they have the 'dumpsters' for them right outside the door.

Good luck with trying the rower! My trainer told me to keep in mind when using it, to first push on feet, then pull back arms in a rowing action, then bring back arms and lastly feet, so you think to yourself, feet, arms, arms, feet over and over. Gradually it gets faster and smoother. And a super straight back is good too, with chest up, that way you can be sure to use the right back muscles for it. Have fun!
