I was sorry to Rosie go.  I enjoy her.  Mostly.  But I was also interested to see what the show would be like without her.  And, you know... except for a couple of really horrible episodes, the show is good and often better without her.   TV Guide ran a list of possible replacement options and at the bottom of that list was Gayle King. I really thought UGH.  Sherry Sheppard, I like.  Kathy Griffin did a good job.  Whoopi is ok.  I could live with all of them.  And I'd watch.

But yesterday they gave Gayle her try and, you know what?  She didn't suck at all.  And I mean I gave her no chance.  And she did fine.  Then, today, it was no Barbara and Gayle and Sherry Sheppard and it was one of the most interesting shows they have had in a long, long time. 

I'm quite encouraged.  I still still TiVo it so I can fast forward over the bits that either bore me or piss me off but I'm encouraged.  And surprised.

I am also loving Gayle King, and had thought she wouldn't be interested because she's so tied up with "O", but she was terrific, especially in her gigantic disagreements with Sherri Shepard about pretty much everything. It was very involving.
