This was the first day of the machines and, honestly, the jury is still out. I did 10 minutes on the treadmill and then 30 reps on each of 6 machines. 5 of those concentrate on arms and shoulders and one on legs. I was not able to get through all 30 reps on one of the machines. And, when I was done, I honestly didn't feel like I had done enough.
I think maybe what I try is 10 minutes on the treadmill, one round of each machine for 15 reps and then 10 minutes on the treadmill or the bike or something and then another round of 15 reps?
Also there is one machine that I'm not sure I remembered how to do correctly. I need to find someone to ask.
But, on the up side, it will be more fun to get back to my regular stuff tomorrow and I guess that is really part of the point.

Date: 2007-06-27 04:10 pm (UTC)My standard thing is 3 sets of 12 reps on each machine or free weights increasing the weight for each rep. That way you get a bit of rest between each set and the opportunity to do stretches. This came from the several trainers I had a while ago.
I rotate between Legs/Abs Shoulders/Arms and Chest/Back for each day I do it with 4-5 machines/weights.
