It was warm in here when I got back from the gym so I decided to cool it down with a bit of A/C.  I grabbed the remote and pressed "Power" and nothing.  What??  OH NO!! Fuck!!!!  I don't think there is any other way to turn it on except the remote.  I'm SCREWED!!!  Then I filled the remote with fresh batteries and whew... I'm back in the cool saddle again.  Man, that was frightening!

I use conditioner on my hair simply so I can get a comb through it when it's wet without pulling my hair out.  Traditionally, I grab the cheapest thing on the shelf.  Have for years.

But, last time I ran out, I bought Dove.  Because, Dove has this fabulous ad campaign celebrating older women.  I mean it is really a great campaign and it's more than just ads.  And they are doing a great thing.  So I bought Dove.

That stuff is GREAT!  My hair feels wonderful all the time, not just for the first 20 minutes after I wash it.  Wow.  Next up is Dove deodorant and Dove soap.  What a pleasant surprise.

I have a Citi Master Card that is relatively new. I use it when a place won't take my Discover Card - both cards pay money back and I like that.  So earlier in the week, I made two electronic payments to my Citi card.  One on Monday and on Tuesday.  I had only made one other payment before and that payment took 1 day to show up on the Citi website.  But these two payments weren't getting there.  I gave them several days thinking they had maybe stopped for a beer on the way.

Finally today when they still weren't there, I figured I'd better make some calls.  So I started with my credit union.  As I'm gathering info, I discover that I paid the money to my Citi mortgage!  and not the credit card.  doh.

Whew.  No harm the payment isn't due until next week so the new payment I made to the credit card today will be there in plenty of time.  Then I adjusted my next mortgage payment for the difference.  All is well.

Sometimes I think I'm a little too obsessive about my financial accounts.  Today is not one of those times!!

Now I am going to have to try it. I love the campaign, too.

No more moisturisers? Not Like I used them before, but couldn't hurt?

Once upon a time, [livejournal.com profile] jwg's mother put her apartment rent check and her cable TV payment in each other's envelopes. The rental agent, of course, didn't take very long to suggest that she might want to pay them a bit more that month; on the other hand, I believe it took a lot of time and phone calls to persuade the cable company that, no, she really hadn't intended to pay for three years in advance.
