Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] joyofmacs and [livejournal.com profile] estis and their webcams, I am getting a little snow and maybe will even get a blizzard this afternoon! Ha. I feel like I should put a hat and mittens on my monitor. (Right now I'm getting Joy in her adorable flannel Christmas nightgown... She looks so comfy and cozy.)

I'm back on the list. There's a couple who live downstairs. Two women who have been together since the Hoover administration, I think. One is a pain in the ass and the other one is the partner of a pain in the ass. They moved in to this building minutes before I did ten years ago. Every single Christmas they get these big muffins at Costco and wrap them in really pretty red cellophane and they get pet toys and cards. On Christmas morning they leave an appropriate number of muffins for the humans and an appropriate number of pet toys for the pets at the front door of about half of the people who live here.

Last year I fell off the list. no muffin, no toys. I had to go downstairs to Sherry and Lee's (cat sitters) to feed their cats early in the morning and it was funny to note who was on the list and who was off. I have not spoken to either of these muffin ladies this year other than to say high in the hallway. But, somehow I got back on their list. Two cat toys and one muffin at my door.

I just went down to Sherry and Lee's (they always go to LA to Sherry's sister's) and again it was funny to see who is 'in' this year and who has fallen off the list. A little Christmas tradition.

Sherry made a tent of a sheet and some funiture in their living room. She left me a note saying it was for the kitties to play in while they were gone. It cracked me up. They are much better kitty parents than I am. But Jake and Betty don't know that and you'd better not tell them.

Off in a bit to see Hugh Grant. I don't care if the movie sucks. Two hours with Hugh is a pretty excellent way to spend Christmas in my book.

Hugh has A British accent ..an uncommon one as it is the one used by the upper middle classes more than most others :) As in USA there are loads of local accents ..Im not sure if that comes across on US TV or not? THE strongest English accents I s'pose are Yorkshire , Birmingham , Manchester , Devonian , London ....but every area has its own. And then there is the *public school* accent that Hugh has (which is delicious) but not *that* common probably

Cheers for the webcams ..I am off to look :)

well ...
