crisp/uncrisp
Jul. 17th, 2007 07:59 pmSherry sent an email that she bought some Ben and Jerry's Creme Brule that turns out she didn't like so please would I come get it? I had something I kept meaning to take down to Lee for her mother so I grabbed it and a spoon and left here in the middle of the 1st inning and went downstairs to their unit.
They had the game on their HDTV.
Whoa.
I love my new TV and it is bigger than theirs (and a little sleeker looking if I do say so myself) but I cannot see the zits on the pitcher's nose and they sure can. On my TV close plays have a bit of an impressionists feel. On their TV, I feel dirt on the bottom of my feet.
Amazing.
BUT, I'm not yet ready to make the concessions I'd need to in order to have HDTV. One day I'll be forced to do it and maybe I'll figure out a way around my current constraints between now and when I'm forced but until then, I'm pixelated and ok with it.
Sherry and Lee go out of town enough so that I can get a lot of use out of their HD!
And, the ice cream is really too sweet BUT cut with my vanilla, it will make a nice little milkshake, I think. I have very nice neighbors.

Date: 2007-07-18 10:29 am (UTC)i wasn't so big on the creme brulee ice cream from ben and jerry's--it's has the carmelized top smooshed into the ice cream, and the texture just isn't right.

Date: 2007-07-18 12:54 pm (UTC)The place where HD really makes a big difference isn't on your run of the mill tv shows, it's on things like sporting events, where there's a lot of movement over time. You can pick out the individual faces in the crowd, it's so clean. Which is awesome. But not required in order to watch the Mariners get your hopes up for a win and then crush them in the 9th.

Date: 2007-07-18 03:27 pm (UTC)Sorry, that was rambling. In any case, I want HDTV, and I'm jealous of anyone who has it right now.

Date: 2007-07-18 03:32 pm (UTC)However, because I have my analog cable split over three TiVo's plus, direct into the TV, it also means I'd have to either lose two of them or lose all three and buy an HDTV one. I don't like any of those options. I'd have prettier TV and far less of it. No joy here!

KC is only a symptom. The distressing thing is that they've won exactly 20 of their last 40 games. They can't survive if they keep this up.
