lunch ramblings
Jul. 18th, 2007 12:11 pmI have a couple of minor work situations that are making me feel less than charitable. Which is stupid. Mom taught me from the time I was a small kidlet that not everyone was as perfect as I am and I am going to have to spend my life making allowances for their short comings. But, I'll tell you, it never gets easy. Or it hasn't yet. My natural being feels so strongly that fools should be punished for being fools.

I have a little stash of gummi bears in a kitchen drawer and I think I might need to break into them in just a bit. Only if I promise crossmyheart to let the fools go unharmed.
--
There's a spate of new spam hitting me - no content, harmless subject lines and a PDF attached. I haven't looked at the PDF. I'm devoting my free time to deleting this crap. The Gmail spam filter is catching 95% of it but the volume is high so a bunch is still getting through. I hope they stop soon.

My nephew (my brother's youngest) is a Red Sox fan. He sends sympathetic and/or other baseball emails once or twice a week. He's not big on subject lines so Avast thinks they are all spam even though I've set up his email address as safe. I think I'm fighting a losing battle here.
--
This would be an entirely useless entry except that it postponed - at least for a bit - some of the work I wasn't ready to tackle yet. I think I'll go dig out some of those gummi bears and tackle it now.

the PDF spam
Date: 2007-07-18 07:34 pm (UTC)much of it goes like "you have a postcard from a fan/relative/fawning sycophant/..." and, honestly, all my fawning sycophants know better than to send me e-postcards.
