I came in to work about the usual time - quarter to seven - and there was no one here. Didn't surprise me much. One of the Twinkies works east coast hours but she's actually on the east coast right now so I didn't expect her.

But, 30 minutes later there was still no one. Usually the guys who run our services are here no later than 7 and generally a couple are here when I get here. Finally, just now, one of the developers came in. I told him that I was beginning to think I'd missed a memo about the office being closed.

I don't have a lot that has to be done and I don't intend to make a whole full day of it. It's nice to be able to come in and stay caught up and know nothing is going to hit the fan because the shit slingers are all out.

So it's really just kind of a free day. And tomorrow is a half free day. I think this is my ideal job. Go to a place not far from home where they have lots of office supplies and a nice big color printer and bagels. Do some web pages and fiddle with some data bases and edit some docs and don't stay too long and then go home. And get paid. And have all of the assholes on vacation. Yep, this works for me.

You *do* have an enviable job, at least to me. With the exception of certain coworkers.

I can never work out whether I like Hugh or not. He's a funny kind of man. Irresistible, yet I always think he would do with something adding on. I'm not sure what.

Anyway, I enjoy your livejournal. Hope you don't mind.
