Day 135 - 2

susandennisToday was machine day - 10 on the treadmill, 1 set of 15 reps and then 10 on the bike and another set of 15 reps on each of my six machines.
But the big news is... the other fat old white lady finally smiled hello to me!!! Every day she is in there, I try to catch her eye and smile a hello. It's my thing. It was several days before she would even lift her head to give her eyes a chance. But every time I got a little closer and today she gave me a big hello smile!! It is the first time I have ever seen any expression at all on her face. Victory!!
And, if that wasn't enough excitement... The other day during the alleged spraying incident. Jerome was talking to this guy I always call the String Bean. He really is one pole and always wears spandex so you can't miss this feature. Anyway, he always slowly does machine to machine - at really heavy weights and then, while resting there at whatever machine he has just finished, he reads the Wall Street Journal. Then moves onto the next machine, does his reps at something like 900 pounds and then goes back to his newspaper.
Anyway, I've never seen him talk to anyone except for Jerome that one time and I've never seen him smile.
Today, he walked by me while I was on the treadmill and gave me a HUGE hello-to-my-conspirator smile!! I nearly fell off the treadmill in delight and shock.
And, if that isn't enough soap opera gym news... Sandy (of Sandy and Tija, the owners) had a face lift on Monday. I know cause on Tuesday, Tija had her laptop showing Sandy's horrible post surgery face. Now if you ask Tija how Sandy is doing, you get the latest pics.
So, I'm here to report that Sandy is healing but, it looks from the pix like it's slowly and painfully. OUCH.
