I have one computer that I use for backup and web cams and general avail-if-needed.  It's running XP.  It's connected to the internet via a USB wireless adapter.   But, it's hiding from me.  I can't find it to see what network it's accessing and, more importantly, to switch it to the new one.

When I look at Network Connections, it shows ONE listing for Internet Gateway.  'Local Area Connection on Linux IGD' and it shows connected.  And, it is, indeed connected.  There's the little LAN connection icon in the tray (the two little monitors).    I can see the adapter in Hardware Configuration and it's listed as working fine.  And, indeed it is.

BUT... where is the wireless hiding??  Where's the little system tray icon?  Where's the line in Network Connections?  How in the heck can I tell it to switch networks?

I did unplug the USB adapter and plugged it back in and all I got for that fun was an error and lost connection.  I rebooted and all was fine (but hidden) again.  This is crazy making.

Everyone else - the other computers and the TiVos are all very happy with Clearwire.  Really happy so far.  I put the router behind the chaise and the modem behind the couch (where I can easily see it from the chaise to make sure all the lights are shining brightly).  I sent a question into Clearwire technical support - I'll be interested to see how and when they respond.

That bridge collapse in Minneapolis is just horrible.  Just horrible.
