Mothers who won't behave
Dec. 27th, 2002 09:00 amThe place where my Mom lives is elegant and expensive. The services are good and they try very hard to make them the best. When I was there last, I met with Sarah who's job it is to be the residents' advocate. She's a really nice woman who has me totally convinced that she's excellent at what she does, really cares and really likes my Mom.
Sarah said that her biggest problem is that the residents do not bring their problems to her so she doesn't know what needs fixing.
Mom didn't know there was a form to fill out when you leave so that they will know you are gone, get your paper, hold your mail, etc. So she didn't fill it out. She told her person at the front desk she was leaving and left phone numbers. She got back and the housecleaner hadn't been there and she was pissed. She sent me 4 emails about it between yesterday and today. She's really pissed.
Will she go tell Sarah? Will she even send Sarah an email? Will she even couch it in terms of 'suggesions' - when you tell the person at the front desk you are leaving can't that person say 'did you fill out the form??' No. She is 'saving Sarah for the big things.'
GRRRRRRRRR I'm guessing there will be about 3 more emails on this subject before we let it die. I have a delete button and I know how to use it.

Date: 2002-12-28 03:38 pm (UTC)I told my Mom about your Mom's James Garner comments and about her being an extra. She was impressed.
Funny how the lj spills into the real.
