Too odd to handle
Aug. 3rd, 2007 08:41 amLast night I got worried about the Clearwire lack of speed. Uploading is just too slow. And, I haven't gotten answers to my email or my ticket and when I called my salesguy yesterday, I discovered he was on vacation and wouldn't be back until after my trial period was up.
So... maybe the Qwest deal is looking better. Comcast has been totally ruled out. But... maybe I should call Qwest and try again.
On Tuesday, they told me that to lose my ISP, I'd have to sign up with MSN and either go with a 2 year contract for $36 a year or pay $43 for month to month and it would mean no service for 3 days. I have the Clearwire until next Wednesday. So if I get lucky on the 3 days...
Today I specifically asked for Qwest.net Basic - I want to lose my ISP and switch to Qwest.net Basic. She said it would cost me $34 a month and she set me to switch over on August 8. She said it would happen automatically which I seriously doubt but if I had trouble to call technical support.
????!!!! This makes zero - absolutely zero sense to me. And, I cannot believe it will work but I guess we'll see on the 8th. Worst case, I lose all internet access next Thursday. Then I hope my neighbors' open access works!
Weird to the nth degree.
If Clearwire starts answering my questions, I might consider keeping them. I am absolutely going to see if I can talk them into extending the trial for a few more days...
