I called Clearwire today to see if I could get an extension and to clear up the issues I have but I could tell the moment I got Theresa on the Cancel My Service line, I knew it was hopeless. 

Interestingly when you select Cancel My Account from the telephone tree, you get three options, Cancel because of billing issues, Cancel because of slow speed or Cancel for other reasons.  I picked Other Reasons.

Here's how it went:

Theresa:  Can you tell me why you'd like to cancel?
Me:  Well, initially it was because of speed but now it's really your lack of customer service.  I've asked three times now to get a copy of my contract via email and have gotten none.  I called, I sent email that was never answered and I submitted a trouble ticket asking for the contract and asking other questions.  You system shows that trouble ticket is now 4 days old without a soul touching it.  I work from home on the internet and I cannot afford to go four days with an unfixed problem.
Theresa:  Oh I am so sorry to hear that...

Wait... that's what I expected her to say... here's what she actually - I kid you not - said:

Theresa:  Do you know anyone who would like to take over your contract?

Yes, I did.  I laughed out loud in her ear.  But, said that, no, I did not.  She put me on hold and then emailed me a prepaid UPS label and said that my credit card would be credited within 5 business days after they received the modem. 

Interestingly, they did not cut me off immediately.  This entry is being written on a computer still connected to that account.  It may be that I can't get to the UPS drop off point until Thursday.  That my new Qwest account kicks in Wednesday night is simply a coincidence and has not bearing on my ability to get to the UPS drop off point any earlier.  Sweartogod.

I'm so surprised in regards to Clearwire. Not only has my experience been different but so has the experience of the person who recommended me. Very weird.

Hope it goes smoothly with quest!
