The doctor is fine.  He's so cute.  He's so good to talk to.  No messing around.  No caveats out the ying yang.  No blowing up my skirt.  Just get to it and get it done.  I love that.  And his office is so efficient.  Today they had a temp on the front desk.  Everyone (doctor included) was meeting her for the first time as I walked up.  She was as efficient as the rest. Amazing.

I was remembering this time last year when I had to fire my first doctor who works just at the other end of the hall for the opposite of everything in that first paragraph!!

Anyway... I told him about the exercised and he was clearly delighted which was nice.  And I told him that the blood pressure medicine I was taking cost - in an interesting coincidence - the same as my gym membership.  He explained that my blood pressure while currently not high, is not low enough to stop the solid gold stuff... probably.

BUT he offered me the option.  Quit taking it and check back in a month.  Or switch to a cheaper one and check back in a month.  Or do nothing.  I picked door #2.  Then he whipped out his little PDA and asked me what insurance I have so he could look up prices.  I thought that was very cool.  My insurance is private so he didn't have the database but he found one that he thought they would be very happy with.  So we ordered up a batch.

And I'll go see in him a month.  I decided on the way home that I would check my own blood pressure every day at the same time for the next month just to see.    That should be interesting.

Besides the first paragraph, the thing I like about this guy is that he responds quickly and specifically to all my questions.  He patiently listens when I talk to him and he does not pressure me to do squat.  And he doesn't go overboard.  He knows the difference between a question and a complaint and when to answer and when to start talking solution.

So... I'm going back in a month.  And otherwise... all is good.

PLUS... work is leaving me alone and it's not too hot and while it's only 10:30, I'm totally declaring victory on this day!

He sure sounds like a keeper. Hope the new meds work just as well.

I thought you were taking lisinopril. Y'all don't have a Walmart out there? That's one of their $4/month prescription medicines.

Ah, I understand now why you'd like to skip it.

In a couple of weeks at my next appointment, my doctor and I will be having a similar conversation about one of my drugs which costs $60 a month...and that's for the generic! I'm going in with the Walmart list in my pocket. $2 a pill for a generic is silly.

Stan's BP medication is really expensive too.
That's really good news your presssure's coming down. You're working hard to get fit.
