I mailed the phone back to Tracfone. It will be interesting to see if I ever see that $$ again.

And then I went to Denny's.  I love a good greasy spoon and the last close-by non-chain one closed several years ago.  South of here is a very industrial greasy-spoon lovin' kind of area that is very easy to get to but pretty much shuts down on weekends.  Except for one sad Denny's that I've driven by a basillion times.  Today I went in.

The food was not the best greasy spoon fare I've ever had but not too bad.  The staff was kind of fun to watch.  I sat at the counter. I  got good service and it was different and fun.  I may do it again next Sunday.

The laundry is all done and folded and I've watched an Amazon TiVo movie.... I $15 for signing up for their unbox thing and I had only used up $3 and the rest expires next Friday so I figured I might as well use it up.   There are a couple of things with the unbox deal that will likely keep me from using them again... 1 is that you have to watch your downloaded selection within 30 days and once you hit play, it will only work for the 24 hours.  That's just too restrictive for me but the other problem with the service is that their selection sucks.  But, for free, it's not so terrible.

I got a great note from my brother today about his business.  He's now trying something entirely new and he spelled out all his whys and wherefores and it sounds like a good plan to me.  But, mainly I love that he's so creative with his livelihood and so adventurous and so outside the box.  I hope Mother and Daddy can somehow know how he's doing.  They always loved him to bits but there were lots of times when they weren't too proud.  They would both be poppin' their buttons over him now.

And I love that he sends me the details and emails his thoughts and ideas.

I'm proud to have him as my brother.

I just read in Ken Levine's blog that he's doing the radio broadcast of the Mariners game today.  So I'll just mute out the TV and listen to him on the radio.  It will be a nice change of pace.  Glad I read about it this afternoon instead of tomorrow!

So I'll just mute out the TV and listen to him on the radio.

This might be interesting in unexpected ways. We've noticed that the TV broadcast often lags the radio broadcast by a few seconds -- more when the TiVo is involved -- but on Friday while I was watching the all-Sox game on TV when [livejournal.com profile] jwg came home from the gym, and he had been listening to the radio in the car on the way home, he was astonished to come into the house just in time to see the play that he had heard announced while still in the car. The difference was probably a good 15 seconds.

Tivo has to add a delay to do the recording. But to add to the confusion, both TV and radio do at least a 7-second delay for FCC reasons, so if you're listening to the radio in the stadium, you see stuff before you hear about it.

My favorite greasy spoon chain is Waffle House. Do they have those out there? Of course, local to Hotlanta is The Varsity....specialty is chili dogs, greasy onion rings and Frosted Orange. Geez, I almost got heartburn just thinking about it!
