Sherry, of Sherry and Lee (neighbors), loves to make brownies.  And she is very good about sharing.  Not long ago I was down there and there was a fresh batch and she gave me one.  I had just seen that new brownie pan that makes all the brownies in the pan edge brownies.  I was trying to explain the pan and I was getting two blank faces.  It took some conversation but finally we figured out that they don't think the edges are the best!  I was shocked.  I thought everyone thought the edges were the best.  You don't see anyone making a brownie pan with NO edges...

Anyway, I just got a note from them and they said new batch of brownies coming this week.  Lee adds 'we'll get the meat and you can have the bones!'

I know about pizza bones but brownie bones is a new one on me.

Oh, we'd get along great - I prefer the brownie meat too! You can have the bones.

Hee. I know lots of people who prefer the edge, but I prefer the soft gooey melty centers!

Same here. If there existed a pan where they'd all be center pieces I'd buy it in two seconds flat. (I don't know how they'd pull that one off, but one can always dream...)

I definitely prefer the gooey middle part. I would like to see a brownie pan that has no edges. My mom used to actually cut the edges off when she took a plate of brownies to a potluck. It was like heaven: all middle pieces and no edges.

Although now, in my later years, I get it why the edges are awesome: they're good for dipping in milk. And they don't fall apart as easily. Sweet.Q

I'll take brownie middles or brownie edges. Just as long as they don't have nuts I'll take 'em all!
