Questions? Please ask.
Dec. 29th, 2002 09:38 amI've seen this done in other journals and never can think of questions but I think it's kind of a thoughtful thing to offer.
Pretty much all of my life is out there somewhere and most of it on a webpage somewhere. I have no secrets. If anything's untold it's because telling didn't occur to me to tell or I forgot. But if there is something about me - a question that someone wants to know - ask away. Seriously.
A friend, today, started a comment off with a reference to being nosey. No way, not in my journal. I am the nosiest person on the face of the earth - seriously, don't challenge me there - so other people's curiousity about me is always flattering.
So while I cannot imagine what else there is about me to know, if you have a question, ask away - not necessarily now but just in general - if, when, you want to know something, ask - I'll answer. Really, I will.

Date: 2002-12-29 02:04 pm (UTC)I actually have been to the UK a couple of times. Well, actually only really London. The last time was, however, in 1985. I went for the tennis tournament at Wimbledon in June and it was hotter than hell.
I do watch a fair amount of British TV and have learned that 1. I have to listen really carefully to understand the words and the slang mostly goes right over my head. 2. Your houses have a lot of doors and no closets which I think is really strange. 3. I love tea sandwiches but I'd have to stick with my coffee.
But, my favorite British programs are probably not the run of the mill. My very favorite is Vicar of Dibly (go figure), followed by Parkinson and then Manchild and House Invaders. So except for a 10 day trip nearly 20 years ago, my knowledge of England comes from you and those four tv shows. Oh and my friends, the Parkers, who live so close to you that he blocked you off my guest map! (They live in Bradford).

Date: 2002-12-29 04:04 pm (UTC)My Mom used to knit some. And when I was six I asked her to teach me. She said no. She said she didn't have time and I wouldn't stick with it and she wasn't going to bother. I pestered her to death. She finally relented and no way was I going to not be a world champion knitter once she told me I was going to fail!
I don't remember - since then - not having some knitting project around but in the past five years or so I've become a little obsessed. It gives me the illusion that I am not just sitting on my ass wasting time. I like to learn new stitches and techniquest (mainly from books and the internet) and try them out.
The funny part is that my Mom really isn't a good knitter. She hasn't finished a project in years and is slow as Christmas. She really is far more interested in the idea of knitting as opposed to the actual knitting.

Date: 2003-01-03 01:31 pm (UTC)And probably I exagerated a little on the cat. The last time we were to the vets he was 35 pounds and the vet assistant weighed him a couple of times because she couldn't believe it. But, I think he's lost some so he's probably closer to 30. A lot of heavy cat is packed in there - he's solid.
I always think that if Stitches gets closer, I'll go. But I probably won't. We sometimes have regional knitting meets near here and I don't go. The last time there was one, there just wasn't anything on the agenda that appealed to me enough to pay the $50 fee. I did go wander around the 'store' they had set up of vendors. It was interesting but I didn't buy anything.
